Gingergrass essential oil has a desk job.
It spends a lot of time at the computer, hunched over and typing.
As if that didn’t cause enough tension in Gingergrass’s shoulders . . . it slept funny on its neck last night.
Now Gingergrass’s neck and shoulders are so sore and tight, it can barely turn its head!
Fortunately, Gingergrass knows how to use essential oils to help neck pain.
This recipe is made in a base of Trauma Oil.
Have you ever used Trauma Oil for natural pain relief blends? It’s amazing! Trauma Oil is actually a carrier oil (often olive oil) that’s been infused with three therapeutic herbs: arnica, St. John’s wort, and calendula.
It’s the PERFECT base for a neck pain relief blend!
As for which essential oils help neck pain, Gingergrass chose to work with Rosemary ct. camphor, and Lavender.
Here’s the recipe:
- 1 oz (30 ml) Trauma Oil
- 7 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
- 5 drops Gingergrass essential oil (Cymbopogon martinii sofia)
- 4 drops Rosemary ct. camphor essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis camphor)
Make this recipe in a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle.
Combine the Trauma Oil and essential oils and shake gently. Use it as needed to massage a sore neck and shoulders. If your neck feels very tight right now, you may want to use this every hour or so until you feel it help. Then reduce it to every few hours.
Let’s talk about WHY these essential oils help neck pain.
Gingergrass essential oil is warm and spicy, with fresh herbal notes. It can help anytime we want to calm inflammation, or encourage the body’s natural circulation. This is a very popular oil for muscles and joints among massage therapists.
Rosemary ct. camphor essential oil is fresh, camphoraceous, and cooling. It complements Gingergrass nicely in this blend, because it’s also good at bringing circulation to areas where it’s applied. The two oils create a lovely synergy to help neck pain!
Lavender essential oil is a classic for many kinds of natural pain relief. With its calming, relaxing presence, it soothes both the mind and body—making it especially beneficial for any tension related to stress. Even spending a few moments taking in the aroma of Lavender can help the body into a state of calm relaxation.
