I hope that you know what a profound effect essential oils can have on people in hospice care. Whether they are going through an end-of-life transition, are in chronic pain, have lost their sense of who they are, deal with emotional imbalances (or mental ones), struggle with depression or anxiety, or something else altogether . . . I’m going to say something that might sound a little surprising. I sometimes hesitate to say it, but I want to share it with you today because as essential oils get more popular with the public, I’ve found this statement to be more and more true. There are a lot of people who love essential oils—who use them, write about them, and offer advice to others—who only have a beginning level of education about them. They just haven’t experienced much training. They may understand that essential oil safety is important . . . but at the same time, they might not be aware of the variety of safety issues they need to pay attention to, or where to find reliable information.
