What is Lavender Tea Tree essential oil? And how can you use it?

What if there was an essential oil that smelled like a combination of Lavender and Tea Tree?

I bet we'd nickname it "Lavender Tea Tree."

And I bet we'd use it alongside Lavender and Tea Tree, too . . . for feeling relaxed, boosting our emotions, cleaning the house, calming inflammation, and even soothing sore throats.

Ahh, if only there were such an essential oil! An Aromatherapist can dream, right?

Wait a minute . . .

My friends Lavender and Tea Tree are telling me something . . . they are saying that this beauty exists! And it has such a sweet name—Rosalina!

Rosalina's Latin name is Melaleuca ericifolia. You can see it comes from the same plant genus as Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). Its aroma combines the fresh, medicinal scent of Tea Tree with the soft relaxing floral of Lavender. And yes, its nickname really is "Lavender Tea Tree!"

While Rosalina pairs well with Tea Tree, its actions are gentler. It's a good choice if you feel Tea Tree is too strong for the blend you want to make.

Another way Rosalina combines the benefits of Lavender and Tea Tree is that it's gentle on the skin while reducing germs. I even included it in a foam soap recipe in my book, The Heart of Aromatherapy: An Easy-to-Use Guide for Essential Oils. Here's that recipe . . .

Rosalina's "Lavender, Lavender Tea Tree, and Tea Tree"Foam Soap

  • 1.4 oz (40 ml) Castile soap

  • 8 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

  • 8 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)

  • 8 drops Rosalina (Melaleuca ericifolia)

A perfect balance of all three essential oils!

Make this blend in a 50 ml foam soap bottle. We're only using 40 ml of castile soap to leave room for the foam pump on top of the bottle. That's what creates the luxurious foam, and it is a bit bulky.

May- Blog - May 6 - recipe - Rosalinas Lavender Lavender Tea Tree Tea Tree Foam Soap- 600 x 600- V1

This size of foam soap is perfect for traveling with. You can even pop it in a bag and carry it with you, so you have your natural foam soap to use in public restrooms (sometimes the soaps they provide are a little harsh).

Want to make this Lavender Tea Tree foam soap for kids? Reduce the drop counts of all the essential oils from 8 to 4 (meaning you use 12 drops of essential oil total instead of 24).

Enjoy!
