Don't worry, be happy with this essential oil solid perfume!

There's an indescribable joy that fills my heart when I engage in the art of making natural perfumes. It's a joyous dance of artistry and nature that truly encapsulates my spirit. There's a unique satisfaction in blending the perfect array of scents, capturing the essence of nature, and bottling it up for those times when you need a little pick-me-up.

This blog post serves as an ode to this delight. I aim to share this fulfilling experience with you through one of my favourite creations - a solid perfume recipe that features essential oils, with the key theme of fostering optimism throughout the day.

Let's explore the charm of solid perfumes. These gems, made from beeswax, allow the magical aromas of essential oils to take on a balm-like form. The beeswax acts as a "fixative", encapsulating the scents and permitting them to linger for an extended duration. This means your perfume not only stays on longer but its emotional effects also persist, allowing you to bask in a halo of positivity throughout your day.

Creating this special formula has been an intimate process for me, especially because the blend was designed with peace and positivity in mind. From the top notes that awaken your senses, to the middle notes that form the heart of the perfume, and down to the base notes that form a deep, lasting impression – each note has been thoughtfully selected to inspire happiness and tranquillity.

As we delve into this recipe, I’ll shed light on why I chose specific notes and the emotional effects they contribute to this blend. For me, it isn't just about creating a lovely scent; it's about blending a therapeutic tool that supports our emotional health and well-being.

This blog serves as your guide to crafting joy, note by note, and whiff by whiff. It's about immersing yourself in the beauty of nature's scents and the joy of crafting your own unique blend. It's about embracing happiness in every drop of essential oil and every grain of beeswax. It's about finding joy in the little things, just as I have found immeasurable joy in creating these natural perfumes.

And I show you how in the video!

Another great thing about making essential oil solid perfume? It doesn't leak! Drop your tin of perfume into your bag or carry it in your pocket, so you can re-apply it throughout the day.

Here's what you need & how it all comes together...

Fragonia™ Uplifting Solid Perfume

Apply to your wrists, neck, and anywhere you'd like to smell good!

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 2.5 fl oz (75 ml) Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis)

  • ½ oz (14 g) Beeswax (Cera flava)

  • 20 drops Fragonia™ Essential Oil (Agonis fragrans)

  • 20 drops Pinyon Pine Essential Oil (Pinus edulis)

  • 15 drops Patchouli Essential Oil (Pogostemon cablin)

  • Three 1 oz (30 ml) tins (or glass jars)

Here are the steps to make this enchanting solid perfume using essential oils:

  1. Setup the Stovetop Melting Method: This method requires a Pyrex measuring cup placed in a cooking pot that's filled about a quarter of the way with gently boiling water. Be sure to leave the handle of the Pyrex cup hanging outside of the pot; this prevents it from overheating and becoming too hot to handle.

  2. Melt the Beeswax: Place your beeswax in the Pyrex cup. The heat from the boiling water beneath the cup will gradually melt the beeswax. Patience is key here; allow the beeswax to melt fully before moving on to the next step.

  3. Add the Jojoba: With the beeswax fully melted, it's time to introduce the jojoba oil. Add it to the Pyrex and allow it to blend seamlessly with the beeswax, forming a harmonious fusion.

  4. Incorporate the Essential Oils: Remove your blend from the heat source and introduce your chosen essential oils. Stir gently with a glass stirring rod or the handle of a stainless steel spoon to combine these magical ingredients together.

  5. Pour into Tins: Once your perfume blend is well incorporated, carefully pour the mixture into 1 oz (30 ml) tins. Be careful during this step, as the blend will still be quite hot.

  6. Allow it to Solidify: Place the lids on top of the tins to prevent the essential oils from evaporating while the perfume solidifies. This step requires patience as well, but I promise it's worth the wait.

Once your essential oil solid perfume has solidified, it's ready to be applied! Apply as desired to your wrists, neck, or any other areas you'd like to smell delightful. However, I suggest avoiding the eyes and any particularly sensitive or irritated skin.

How will these essential oils help you feel optimistic?

Fragonia™ (Agonis fragrans)

You might notice a "trademark" symbol adorning the name of Fragonia™. This indicates that this distinct variety of essential oil is sourced exclusively from The Paperbark Co. in Australia, ensuring its authenticity and quality.

Fragonia™ is a gift to your emotional wellbeing, acting as an uplifting clarifier that sweeps away stagnant energy, which can often trap you in negative cycles. Its inherent calming qualities, attributed to its linalool content, soothe the nervous system. Scientific studies back the profound relaxing effects of linalool, underscoring its significance in aromatherapy.

The magic of Fragonia™ lies in its ability to usher in a refreshing, tranquil flow of energy, infusing every moment with peace and clarity.

Pinyon Pine (Pinus edulis)

The revitalizing, crisp notes of conifer essential oils, such as Pinyon Pine, are truly invigorating. Pinyon Pine graces your senses with its sweet, woodsy, evergreen scent, an aroma that clears the mind and invigorates the spirit.

Particularly handy during cold and flu season, Pinyon Pine supports your immune system and energizes your body, fostering an ambiance of motivation and vitality. It adds a nature-inspired note to your solid perfume, echoing the clarity and inspiration that only a serene woodland stroll can provide.

Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin)

Patchouli, a classic essential oil, is renowned for its ability to cultivate a tranquil heart and a serene mind. If you're feeling overwhelmed or anxious, Patchouli is your aromatic ally, expertly alleviating stress and helping to restore balance.

Patchouli grounds you, reminding you to inhabit the peace of the present moment fully. Its rich, earthy scent promotes deep, calming breaths, and its subtle whisper continually reassures you - you've got this!

In the grand tapestry of scent that makes up our solid perfume, each of these essential oils plays a significant role in promoting an overall sense of optimism. They each bring their unique charm to the blend, together crafting an uplifting symphony that transforms your daily scent into an experience of joy, peace, and positivity. Happy blending!
