Get that “Empty Inbox” Feeling! Make Linen Spray for Sleep and Relaxation.
Neroli essential oil has a question for you.
When was the last time you felt really relaxed?
Neroli isn’t just talking about kicking up your feet at the end of a long day.
It’s talking “no phone calls, an empty inbox, nothing on your to-do list, a week off of work, all-tension-melting-out-of-your-bones” relaxed!
Neroli oil has taken classes in helping people destress. It knows how to calm the nervous system, and inspire feelings of emotional contentment and balance.
It’s the perfect ingredient to make linen spray for sleep, and deep relaxation!
Neroli’s “Seems Like a Dream” Linen Spray
- 2 oz (60 ml) Lavender hydrosol (Lavandula angustifolia)
- 5 drops Neroli essential oil (Citrus aurantium var. amara)
- 7 drops Opopanax essential oil (Commiphora guidotti)
- 2 ml Solubol
Combine the hydrosol and essential oils, shake well, and spritz your linen spray around your bed, especially under your pillow.
Neroli oil is what we call “precious.”
It takes a HUGE amount of hand-picked Orange blossoms to make even a small amount of the essential oil! That’s what accounts for Neroli’s high cost.
Fortunately, Neroli essential oil has a very strong, potent aroma. A little bit goes a long way!
If you don’t want to use Neroli oil in your linen spray for sleep (or you don’t have it), you can substitute Neroli/Petitgrain Bigarade.
That’s a blend of Neroli and Petitgrain Bigarade. They’re a perfect match—Neroli essential oil comes from Bitter Orange blossoms, while Petitgrain Bigarade is distilled from the leaves of the Bitter Orange tree. (“Bigarade” means it comes from the Orange tree, which is helpful to know because there are different kinds of Petitgrain essential oil.)
I suggest making a fresh bottle of this every few weeks, since hydrosol is a water-based product and there are no preservatives in this blend.

Neroli’s schedule isn’t as busy as some essential oils’ (like, say, Black Pepper or Peppermint—they’re always running around and busy doing fun things!) But Neroli does like to schedule a lot of time for relaxation . . . so I felt fortunate that it chose to spend time contributing to my book!
