Lavenders Advice for Natural Pain Relief

Lavender is one oil I always reach for when I'm in pain. There are plenty of ways you can practice natural pain relief. Lavender is nourishing and supportive to our bodies when dealing with an uncomfortable situation. It helps to ease pain and relax us all at the same time.

I want to share an essential oil blend that’s amazing for calming inflammation and is a natural pain reliever. This blend is popular on Aromahead’s YouTube channel, so I wanted to share it with you here on the blog, too. Here’s a link to the video! 

It’s made in a base of Trauma Oil—and if you’ve ever used Trauma Oil before, you probably know how effective it is for natural pain relief all by itself. Trauma Oil is an infusion of three herbs in a carrier oil: arnica, St. John’s wort, and calendula. In the video, you can see what a rich, dark color the Trauma Oil is. Amazing that it began as a simple carrier like olive oil, right? The herbal infusion creates such a change!

Traum-Calm Muscle Care Oil

  • 1 oz (30 ml) Trauma Oil
  • 10 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
  • 5 drops Peppermint essential oil (Mentha × piperita)
  • 5 drops Black Spruce essential oil (Picea mariana)

Pour the Trauma Oil into a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle, then add the essential oils. Shake gently and massage the blend into muscles that feel sore and achy for some effective, aromatic natural pain relief!

I think you’re really going to like this blend.

It offers all of Lavender’s talents for calming inflammation, easing the nervous system, and releasing feelings of inflexible tension. Peppermint is probably the most potent oil in this blend, with its strong menthol cooling presence (Peppermint’s cooling aspect makes it a popular choice for natural pain relief). And Black Spruce is another pain-relieving oil that’s great for getting your circulation flowing to move out stuck energy and usher in a fresh sense of relaxed movement. (Ahh, I can move my muscles again!)

There’s a time to relax, and a time to build up your strength . . . and both are important for feeling vital and healthy. If your muscles are sore from overworking, try Lavender for relaxing, and maybe take up a practice like yoga to provide some gentle stretching and strengthening at your own pace.

Just be sure to keep this blend on hand in case you stretch a little too far!
