A rough fall leads Jason to aromatherapy
In 2014, Jason Conifer fell through his ceiling.
As Jason tells it, “I was in my attic . . . and noticed a lot of debris left behind by the previous owner, including a wooden toilet seat, of all things.
“I tried to retrieve that toilet seat to get rid of it, but stepped between the wood support beams. Then I heard a creaking noise.”
Jason’s first thought was uh-oh . . .
His next thought was shock, as he sat on the floor of his house surrounded by drywall, dust, and mess, staring up at the giant hole he’d created in the ceiling!
Nothing was seriously injured (“The biggest injury was to my ego!”), but Jason did have some cuts, scrapes, bumps, and bruises. He washed up with soap and water . . . and then remembered his essential oils.
Jason had collected a few essential oils after hearing about them on social media, and had even tried using them a few times. He’d also read an article about the French chemist René Gattefossé, who had suffered some burns in his lab and used a blend of Lavender essential oil to soothe them.
Inspired, Jason whipped up a blend of coconut oil and Lavender essential oil, and applied it everywhere that ached.
His blend worked!
“After about 15 minutes, I began to feel
somewhat sedate and tranquil. I was no longer
agitated or confused and my pain decreased.
“At that moment, I realized that essential oils have potential.”
The next level: studying aromatherapy
Jason decided to study essential oils to become truly skilled at using them.
He enrolled in a regional aromatherapy class, and soon started his first aromatherapy business—called Bold Aromatherapy.
After a few years of helping clients (and healing from another fall with the help of aromatherapy), Jason had experienced the profound benefits that essential oils can offer many times. He knew there was a lot more to learn about why they worked so well.
It was time to take his study of aromatherapy to the next level.
Aromahead Institute offered the in-depth, chemistry-based aromatherapy education he was looking for.
He enrolled in Aromahead’s Aromatherapy Certification Program (ACP) in March 2020, and graduated a short seven months later. (Congratulations, Jason!)
“Over the course of seven months,
I developed a talent for addressing symptoms
of arthritis and psoriasis, and learned how
aromatherapy can have a role in managing sports injuries.”
Jason liked the breadth of information in the ACP.
“The anatomy and physiology portion of the course was highly informative without being overwhelming. The case studies helped me work with people in a ‘real world’ setting and I was able to do it entirely remotely via Zoom calls.”
From studying aromatherapy to starting a business!
I’m so excited to share that since he’s graduated from the ACP, Jason has started his second aromatherapy business!
