How to Make Rose Geranium Moisturizing Body Oil

How to Make Rose Geranium Moisturizing Body Oil

A Natural Moisturizing Body Oil that Smells like Roses (without the price tag of Rose!)

Ahh—you’ve finally found your dream moisturizing body oil!

It’s all natural, organic, and scented with pure Rose essential oil.

And then you get a look at the price tag and almost drop the bottle.

Wow! That’s some high number . . .

Moisturizing body oil containing Rose essential oil can be pricey. I’ll explain why below.

But first, I want to show you how to make moisturizing body oil that smells gorgeous and floral—like roses!

The ingredients in this moisturizing body oil recipe are all natural, organic, and deeply nourishing for skin.

The base is made with a 50/50 blend of avocado oil, which has a dense, luxurious feel and a rich green color, and of baobab seed oil, which is a lighter, golden, silkier oil that comes from Africa. Both avocado and baobab oils are full of essential fatty acids and offer deep nourishment to skin.

Rose Geranium Moisturizing Body Oil

    • ½ oz (15 ml) avocado oil (Persea gratissima)
    • ½ oz (15 ml) baobab seed oil (Adansonia digitata)
    • 20 drops Rose Geranium co-distill essential oil (Rosa × damascena /Pelargonium × asperum)

Make this blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle.

Combine the avocado oil, baobab seed oil, and Rose Geranium co-distill essential oil, and shake gently.

So why is Rose essential oil so expensive?

And why is Rose Geranium co-distill a more affordable option?

Rose essential oil is expensive because it can take approximately 50 Rose blossoms to make a SINGLE DROP!

That means that filling a small 5 ml bottle (which will hold approximately 125 drops) can take 6,250 Roses.

That is a LOT of plant material and labor going into the process of producing the essential oil!

Rose Geranium co-distill offers us a gorgeous, affordable alternative.

This essential oil is produced by putting Rose and Geranium plant material into the same still, and distilling them at the same time.

The resulting essential oil is a true blend of Rose and Geranium. It’s ONE essential oil, but it’s produced from TWO plants!

Geranium is known for its rosy floral aroma, so it is a perfect partner for Rose. The two plants create a beautiful synergy that offers cooling, inflammation calming, skin-loving, and mood-balancing effects.

This Rose Geranium Moisturizing Body Oil recipe gives you a way to experience handmade, high-quality daily skin care that doesn’t take long to make. And I’ll bet you don’t even need perfume after applying it!
