Homemade Shower Gel Recipe with Essential Oils

Homemade Shower Gel Recipe with Essential Oils

Black Spruce and Kunzea Essential Oils in a Luxurious Homemade Shower Gel Recipe!

I’ve seen some beautiful pictures of enclosed showers located outdoors at a beach.

These are popular for people to wash sand off themselves after going back inside.

Some people who live in the forest also have a shower located outside—an area that’s enclosed for privacy but still open to the trees, so you can smell the woods and hear the wind in the branches. Beautiful!

These are my dream showers . . .

While those showers live in my dreams, I think I’ll just make my own homemade shower gel with essential oils!

It can create the luxurious sense of showering in a natural location—and I’ll still be surrounded by the healing powers of nature thanks to the essential oils.

This is a homemade shower gel recipe with essential oils, aloe vera, and castile soap.

Kunzea Spruce Shower Gel Recipe

  • 1 oz (28 g) aloe vera gel (Aloe barbadensis)
  • 1 oz (28 g) castile soap
  • 20 drops Black Spruce essential oil (Picea mariana)
  • 16 drops Kunzea essential oil (Kunzea ambigua)

You can make this homemade shower gel recipe in a 2 oz (60 ml) PET plastic bottle.

(I usually prefer to use glass for my Aromatherapy blends, but I want to use PET plastic for this shower blend, just in case I drop it with slippery fingers. PET plastic is known to be a non-reactive plastic that doesn’t leach.)

You can also use a bottle with a flip-top (disc-top). Aromatics International has an aloe vera gel that’s liquidy enough to work well in a flip-top bottle.

Kunzea Spruce Shower Gel Recipe

This homemade shower gel recipe is cleansing and supports your health.

The aloe and castile soap in this homemade shower gel recipe will cleanse your skin.

While the Kunzea and Black Spruce essential oils reduce germs, support immunity ... oh, and did I mention, they make your entire shower smell amazing?

(Kunzea ambigua)

Kunzea comes from New Zealand and Australia, and it’s excellent for helping to open your breathing. Its aroma is light, fruity, and a touch spicy and camphoraceous.

If you don’t have Kunzea in your collection, you can substitute Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) or Sweet Basil (Ocimum basilicum ct. linalool).

Black Spruce
(Picea mariana)

Black Spruce is a fresh, foresty conifer. It shares Kunzea’s talent for respiratory health and reducing germs, and it has an ability to ease aches and pains.

I suggest making a fresh bottle of this homemade shower gel every few weeks, since aloe vera gel is a water-based ingredient and we’re not including preservatives in this blend.

Have fun pretending your shower is in a fun foresty location!
