Rejuvenate with this Luxurious DIY Shower Gel Recipe featuring Black Spruce and Kunzea Essential Oils!

Ever dreamt of outdoor showers? Visualize the serenity of an open-air beach shower, letting the sand rinse away under a sunny sky. Or imagine the allure of a secluded forest shower, enclosed for privacy yet open to the leafy canopy, where you can relish the scent of the woods and the soothing rustle of the wind in the branches. Sounds divine, right?

While those idyllic showers may remain in our dreams, there's a way to bring some of that luxurious natural ambiance into our everyday lives. Craft your own homemade shower gel infused with essential oils, allowing you to create a spa-like experience right in your own bathroom. This blend will not only emulate showering in a natural setting but also envelop you in the therapeutic benefits of essential oils.

This DIY shower gel recipe comprises of potent essential oils, soothing aloe vera, and gentle Castile soap.

Kunzea Spruce Shower Gel Recipe

  • 1 oz (28 g) Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis)

  • 1 oz (28 g) Castile Soap

  • 20 drops Black Spruce essential oil (Picea mariana)

  • 16 drops Kunzea essential oil (Kunzea ambigua)

Prepare this enriching shower gel in a 2 oz (60 ml) PET plastic bottle. Although I typically favor glass for aromatherapy blends, PET plastic is a safer choice for this shower blend. You know, just in case slippery fingers lead to accidental drops! Rest assured, PET plastic is known for its non-reactive properties and won't leach.

I recommend using a bottle with a flip-top (disc-top) cap for easier access. For instance, Aromatics International offers a liquidy aloe vera gel that works seamlessly with a flip-top bottle. Enjoy the dreamy shower experience you've always wanted!

Kunzea Spruce Shower Gel Recipe

The aloe vera and Castile soap in this DIY shower gel recipe work together to deeply cleanse and refresh your skin.

Moreover, the inclusion of Kunzea and Black Spruce essential oils does more than just permeate your shower with a heavenly scent. These potent essential oils serve a dual purpose - they help keep germs at bay and bolster your immunity. So, you're not only indulging in an aromatic shower experience but also promoting overall well-being with each use!

Kunzea
(Kunzea ambigua)

Kunzea

Kunzea comes from New Zealand and Australia, and it's excellent for helping to open your breathing. Its aroma is light, fruity, and a touch spicy and camphoraceous.

If you don't have Kunzea in your collection, you can substitute Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) or Sweet Basil (Ocimum basilicum ct. linalool).

Black Spruce
(Picea mariana)

Black Spruce is a fresh, foresty conifer. It shares Kunzea's talent for respiratory health and reducing germs, and it has an ability to ease aches and pains.

I suggest making a fresh bottle of this homemade shower gel every few weeks, since aloe vera gel is a water-based ingredient and we're not including preservatives in this blend.

Have fun pretending your shower is in a fun foresty location!
