Helping Trafficked Women with Aromatherapy

This Aromahead graduate is making a real impact, and you can help!

Aromahead graduate Desahlee Nito is helping trafficked women and children in the Philippines!

With a background in the corporate world, Desahlee started her business when she was still a student in the Aromatherapy Certification Program. 

It's called Aurae Natura. 

Desahlee wanted to give women who had been rescued from trafficking a way to provide for their own income. Aurae Natura teaches women to hand paint essential oil diffusers. You can purchase one of these ultrasonic diffusers on Desahlee's website! They're so beautiful! (The price is calculated in Philippine pesos.) 

Along with hand-painted diffusers, Aurae Natura sells diffuser blends and inhalers crafted with Desahlee's expert understanding of essential oil science. (Check out her Aromahead graduate profile!)

Aurae Natura also supports social workers, so they'll be better equipped to guide women and children who've been rescued from trafficking.

Future plans: supporting Filipino farmers 

Desahlee has accomplished so much and helped so many people.

And she's not done dreaming!

She has big plans for the future. She wants to explore even more ways to help others (especially the poor) through aromatherapy-related products. And she hopes to someday help farmers of aromatic plants: 

Also, even further down the road, my hope for Aurae Natura
is to support Filipino farmers to cultivate essential oil yielding
plants and source from them to help uplift their quality of life.

I'm excited to see how this part of Desahlee's dream unfolds! Farmers and distillers are at the heart of what we do as aromatherapists. Without their dedication to their plants and the quality of their products, we wouldn't have essential oils, and our options for natural health would be more limited.

And supporting their work can uplift the economies of their local communities.
