Incense and Peppermint Headache Oil Roll-On

Frankincense and Peppermint essential oils have two very different personalities.

Frankincense likes to keep things cool and calm. It even owns its own meditation center.

Peppermint has so much energy that it doesn’t like to sit down for too long! It’s always having fun and getting friends together to go dancing.

One likes to rest, the other is full of energy.

But for all their differences, these two friends have a lot in common.

Frankincense and Peppermint both agree that relieving stress and tension is important—they just have different ways of going about it. They’re also both excellent at easing pain, calming inflammation, and creating an open, optimistic state of mind.

That’s why they teamed up to create this headache oil roll-on! They even invited their friend Myrrh (who is a lot like Frankincense) to round out the aroma by bringing some warm depth.

Incense and Peppermint Headache Oil Roll-On

  • 10 ml jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis)
  • 2 drops Peppermint essential oil (Mentha × piperita)
  • 6 drops Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii)
  • 2 drops Myrrh essential oil (Commiphora myrrha)

Make this blend in a 10 ml roll-on bottle.

When you feel a headache starting, use the Incense and Peppermint Headache Oil Roll-On for your neck and shoulders, taking care to massage sore, tight areas. The effects radiate up into the muscles of the scalp, where headaches live. If you like, you can massage a small amount of this oil directly into your scalp, too. (I suggest keeping essential oils away from your face, especially your eyes).

Use your Incense and Peppermint Headache Oil Roll-On as needed until your pain calms down. The 10 ml roll-on bottle is convenient to slip into your bag or pocket.

It smells beautiful too, so try it as a perfume! It can help calm emotional and mental tension . . . and both Frankincense and Peppermint say that’s an important part of relieving a persistent headache.

Frankincense and Peppermint are two of my favorite essential oils for headaches because they’re so effective for “acute” symptoms like that. But there are plenty of other oils that would be effective, too. This post shares a different recipe for headache oil including Frankincense, Rosemary, and Roman Chamomile.

Now whatever your preferred mode of relaxation is—meditating and feeling calm, or going out on the town for fun with friends—you can do it headache free!
