A Frankincense Diffuser Blend for Feeling Calm and Collected
Frankincense essential oil wants to remind you to relax.
Right now, actually.
Stop whatever you are doing, hurry up and take five slow deep breaths right away, you have to relax immediately! It is important for your health!
Haha, just kidding—that wasn’t very relaxing, was it?
Frankincense knows that most of us have a lot of things we are responsible for, and it also knows that relaxation actually helps us be more present and get everything done. Relaxation can help us focus more clearly, and connect more deeply with others. It supports our health in so many ways.
In my book, The Heart of Aromatherapy, I imagined that Frankincense would like to help people incorporate relaxation into their daily lives. That’s why it would own a meditation center right in the middle of town!
“Frankincense’s doors are always open, and you’re welcome to come anytime you would like to reconnect with yourself . . . Frankincense believes vibrant health comes from within, and there are many ways to access that. It teaches several kinds of yoga, tai chi, and meditation, and it has a class specifically focused on deep, healthy breathing.”
I want to share a Frankincense diffuser blend that I created for The Heart of Aromatherapy. (Since all of the essential oils have “personalities” in my book, the recipe was actually “created” by Frankincense, haha!)
“Frankincense meditated for a long time on what to name this diffuser blend. ‘Calm as Chamomile?’ ‘Frankin-chamomile?’ What name could possibly convey how frankly relaxing this Frankincense diffuser blend is?”
Frankly Relaxing Diffuser Blend
- 4 drops Cedarwood essential oil (Juniperus virginiana)
- 1 drop Roman Chamomile essential oil (Chamaemelum nobile)
- 5 drops Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii)
All three of the oils in this Frankincense diffuser blend are known for their soothing effects on the nervous system.
Frankincense has been used in meditation for thousands of years, and has an amazing ability to help stop “overthinking” in its tracks.
Roman Chamomile is so soothing, it somehow reminds me of a lullaby . . . and it has a sweet, warm aroma, like apples and tea!
Cedarwood always gives me the sense that I’m being supported and sheltered by a protective cedar tree.
Relaxation is proven to boost our immunity and health, so you can imagine what an amazing ally this Frankincense diffuser blend can be to support well-being.
And if you’re interested in my book, The Heart of Aromatherapy, you can find it at Aromatics International. It includes 40 essential oil profiles and over 100 recipes like the one in this post.
Take a deep breath and enjoy your day!
