Keeping the air in your home clean is always important for health.

And if you live in an area where the air gets very cold and dry around the holidays, reducing airborne germs is more important than ever!

So let's make a fresh, festive holiday diffuser blend to help neutralize those germs, keep your immunity strong, and make your home smell amazing!

It's a great idea to make a holiday diffuser blend like this and use it a few times a day to prevent people in your house from getting sick.

This blend also creates a gorgeous atmosphere when you're having friends or family over. (I have to say, it's nice to see my guests come in, take a deep breath, and ask "Mmm, what is that great scent?"

First, I'll share the diffuser blend recipe, then I'll tell you how the essential oils can support your health.

Antibacterial Essential Oil Holiday Diffuser Blend

  • 2 drops Cedarwood essential oil (Juniperus virginiana)

  • 2 drops Balsam Fir essential oil (Abies balsamea)

  • 2 drops Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis

I suggest diffusing this for about 15 to 20 minutes at a time to freshen and clean the air.

Now about the essential oils!

All three are effective at reducing germs, support immunity when they're inhaled and are safe to use around children.

Cedarwood essential oil has a warm, woodsy aroma that kids (and grown-ups) love! It helps calm inflammation and boost immunity while inspiring feelings of calm security. (Great for kids' nighttime anxiety.)

Balsam Fir essential oil has a fresh, piney, "Christmas tree" scent. It layers a lighter piney aroma atop the more base-like Cedarwood scent. Just like Cedarwood, Balsam Fir can calm inflammation and boost immunity.

Sweet Orange essential oil combines beautifully with our two tree oils! (Orange and evergreen . . . how can you go wrong?) There is a lot of research on the main natural component of Sweet Orange, called d-limonene, which is known to reduce germs, calm inflammation, support immunity, and clear congestion. Orange also inspires open-hearted, optimistic feelings. Perfect for the holidays!
