What can you do as an Aromatherapist? There is so much opportunity!
If you’re thinking of starting an Aromatherapy career by creating your own product line, I have a big tip that could help you.
First, I want to say . . . this is a great idea!
I have been involved in the Aromatherapy profession since the 1990s, and I have seen the way this industry is growing. The “Aromatherapy boom” is amazing! I can remember a time when knowing about essential oils was very specialized knowledge—not everybody understood what they were (or even knew they existed!)
There are so many people who can tell you that Eucalyptus is good for respiratory support, and Lavender is helpful for relaxation! Awareness of essential oils has truly expanded. People are looking for all-natural solutions for their health and well-being. Aromatherapy is a beautiful option.
That means that right now is a PERFECT TIME to start an Aromatherapy career and create your own line of products.
And my biggest tip for creating a product line that stands out . . . for earning the trust and confidence of your customers . . . for formulating products that are SAFE and create genuine results for people . . .
Is to get an excellent education about essential oils!
Education is the basis for success in any area of life.
This is certainly true for Aromatherapy!
A high level of education, based in science, research and your personal relationship with the oils will help you create an incredible brand that people trust and come back to again and again. It will help you stand out from the crowd, and give you the tools to answer questions about safety and chemistry. It will form the foundation of your success as an Aromatherapist.
Karen Williams is a Certified Aromatherapist who runs an online Aromatherapy company called Aromatics International.
She earned her Aromatherapy Certification at Aromahead Institute, and now has a full-time Aromatherapy career selling a gorgeous, extensive line of products—essential oils, hydrosols, aloe vera gel, carrier oils and butters (like avocado oil and shea butter), bottles and containers, blending supplies, books, and even her own handmade roller-ball and diffuser blends. Her company also shares recipes and writes a fun, informative blog about using essential oils in your daily life.
Aromatics International’s products are sustainable, organic, and wild-crafted. They offers GC/MS lab reports for each of the essential oils she sells, so their customers know exactly what is in each oil. (A GC/MS report breaks down the natural components that are present in an essential oil. It’s wonderful to have that! Knowing exactly what is in an essential oil can inform how you’re using it therapeutically.)
Aromatics International is blossoming. They have a wonderful reputation in the Aromatherapy profession thanks to the high quality of the products they offer, and to their commitment to knowledge and education for their entire team.
If a customer of Aromatics has a question, Karen and her team are right there with the answer. They have put in the time and dedication to ensure they understand the science of the oils.
That’s why education is my biggest tip for starting your own career as an Aromatherapist, and launching a product line!
Whatever you want to accomplish as an Aromatherapist, education can help you achieve it.
