The Perfect Gift: Essential Oil Allergy Blends that Bring Relief Is there someone in your life who suffers from allergies? Watching someone you care for go through that pain can be as uncomfortable as experiencing the symptoms yourself. How about making a gift set of natural essential oil allergy blends to calm their symptoms—and even potentially get rid of allergies for the long term? I want to teach you my favorite essential oil allergy blends! These blends actually worked for me to eliminate my allergies altogether.  I know—we’re told that if we have allergies, it’s just a fact of life we have to live with.  But I didn’t believe I should have to suffer.  I believed that if I was having a reaction, it meant my body was trying to communicate something to me . . . and I could respond to its needs with natural essential oil allergy blends. They worked. I no longer experience allergies! Learn my recipes in a FREE webinar . . . You’re Invited! Reduce Allergies Naturally Using Essential Oils! You’ll learn: 5 SIMPLE + EFFECTIVE blends to quickly reduce allergies. How a natural cleaning product can help with allergies (I’ll give you the recipe!) A natural hand gel recipe designed to help nourish hands. My favorite recipe to get a solid night’s sleep even if you’re congested These essential oil allergy blends can be SUCH A GIFT for someone in your life who suffers!  I’m not exaggerating—getting rid of allergies can change your experience of life. A Natural Allergy Relief Inhaler Recipe Before I end this blog post, let me give you an allergy inhaler recipe you can make for someone (or use yourself) right away.  It helps to clear congestion and calm inflammation quickly. Holiday Allergy Inhaler 7 drops Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii) 4 drops Siberian Fir essential oil (Abies sibirica) 2 drops Balsam Fir essential oil (Abies balsamea) 2 drops Cardamom essential oil (Elettaria cardamomum) Making an Aromatherapy inhaler doesn’t take long at all.  All you do is drop the cotton “wick” into the inhaler’s sleeve.  Then drop the essential oils right onto the cotton.  Snap the lid in place, and you’re done! An inhaler is about the size and shape of a lip balm tube, so this is convenient for a friend or family member to keep in their pocket.   Don’t have one of the Fir oils in this recipe? You can substitute ANY conifer essential oil you like. They all work great for allergy relief! However, I do want to mention that if someone has asthma or respiratory concerns, the conifer oils require “evaluation for tolerance.”  This means that before you use them in a recipe, you want to give the essential oils a sniff to see if they make your chest feel tight or uncomfortable. If so, the conifers might not be the right choice for you. You can substitute Cedarwood essential oil instead (Juniperus virginiana). Nature is our ally. It can support us on the journey to health . . . . . . as long as we know how to work with it safely and well.  And for that, you need KNOWLEDGE. If you’d like to make these essential oil allergy blends for yourself or give them to someone you care for, I hope you’ll join me on the webinar.

  • Steam with Essential Oils for Allergies

Change your experience of allergy season with a relieving essential oil steam. Sometimes allergies are predictable.  If you know you’re allergic to something, you can prepare yourself for the symptoms—or hopefully avoid them altogether! And you can have your favorite essential oil blends or steams ready to go. But allergies can also be unpredictable.  If you move to a new geographic region, you may leave your allergies behind—or develop new ones. Sometimes allergies disappear after years of having them, or your body “suddenly” has a reaction to a familiar substance. These are times when you might need some new essential oil blends to help calm your symptoms. I began using essential oils for allergies years ago, and had such wonderful results.  In fact, I don’t experience allergies at all anymore! Essential oils are a natural, effective way to soothe allergies (and in my case, eliminate them altogether!) Here’s one of my favorite recipes for using essential oils for allergies in a warm, aromatic steam. This is a stock blend recipe, which means you’ll combine four essential oils together, then use a single drop of that blend in your steam. This allows you to get the benefits of multiple oils in a single drop. Needles, Trees, and Leaves Steam Blend for Allergies 40 drops Tea Tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) 25 drops Balsam Fir essential oil (Abies balsamea) 25 drops Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus) 15 drops Laurel Leaf essential oil (Laurus nobilis) Make this blend in a 5 ml bottle. Simply combine the essential oils in the bottle, and tighten the cap to snap the orifice reducer into place. (The orifice reducer is what lets you get one drop at a time out of the bottle.)To do a steam with essential oils for allergies (or to help prevent them), you’ll need a bowl of warm, steamy water. Then add a single drop of your stock blend to the bowl. Just one drop is enough. In fact, if I get two or three drops of essential oil in my steamy water, I like to set that bowl aside to let it diffuse into the room, and start over with a new bowl of water. Once you’ve added the essential oil, close your eyes (that’s important!), lean over the bowl, and breathe in the warm, nourishing steam. I like to drape a towel over my head to concentrate the steam around me even more. Breathe in the steam for a few minutes, repeating the process several times a day. And here’s a “pro tip”… Keep a box of tissues close! The steam tends to clear your head, making you want to sniffle and blow your nose. Essential oil steams are wonderful for calming allergies at home. If you’re at work, or out and about, try carrying an inhaler with you for quick relief. Here’s an effective recipe called “I Can Walk in the Woods!” Allergy Inhaler! Note: This post was originally published in May of 2017. It has been updated with new information.

A Eucalyptus Inhaler Recipe for Allergies that Works for Short-Term AND Long-Term Relief! A Eucalyptus Inhaler Recipe for Allergies that Works for Short-Term AND Long-Term Relief! Back when I used to suffer from allergies, I met my friend Eucalyptus essential oil . . . and it was a life-changing friendship! Eucalyptus showed me that allergies aren’t inevitable. It taught me to make body oils, diffuser blends, natural cleaners, and more to soothe my symptoms. It also taught me a Eucalyptus inhaler recipe for allergies, which I’d like to share with you today. Eucalyptus even explained to me how it worked . . . Eucalyptus: “It’s all about science! I happen to be an expert at reducing allergies thanks to my component 1,8 cineole (and my other natural components). And using an Aromatherapy inhaler means the essential oils are getting right where they’re needed most—your respiratory system!” So I made this Eucalyptus inhaler recipe for allergies. It really did help break up congestion, and eased my symptoms overall. Here’s a Eucalyptus inhaler recipe for allergies that you can use to calm your symptoms in the short term . . . and maybe even send them away for the long term! Eucalyptus is joined by its friends Cedarwood and Orange. Eucalyptus & Friends Inhaler for Allergies 5 drops Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) 7 drops Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) 3 drops Orange (Citrus sinensis) An Aromatherapy inhaler is about the size of a lip balm tube, and fits right in your pocket or bag. All you have to do is drop the essential oils onto the cotton insert, put the insert into the inhaler sleeve, and then close it all up. That’s it! This Eucalyptus inhaler recipe for allergies will last for about two months before you should make a new one. Making this blend for a child? That’s a great idea! Aromatherapy inhalers are easy for kids to use. It’s a simple, empowering thing they can do without having to ask an adult. It’s also a good idea to leave the Eucalyptus out of this blend in that case. Eucalyptus is a strong essential oil, and may not be right for younger children. In fact, I suggest using a lower total drop count of essential oils. So our recipe would look like this: 7 drops Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) 2 drops Orange (Citrus sinensis) This would be helpful for kids over five years old. For kids younger than five, I recommend diffusing oils instead. And I can also tell you . . . since I started using essential oils for allergies, I no longer experience allergies at all! Can you believe it? My allergies, which I had assumed were just an unavoidable, chronic condition of life, are totally gone. I would say it’s like magic, except I know it’s science. Eucalyptus gave me a whole new understanding of allergies. It taught me that even though allergens are all around me, I can use essential oils all around me, too. It taught me that certain things in my environment were actually stressing my immunity, like store-bought cleaners and body products. Eucalyptus was very patient in teaching me to replace all of these things with all-natural essential oil versions. Now, instead of stressing my immunity, my cleaners and body products support my health. I wasn’t exaggerating when I wrote that I no longer experience allergies. It’s amazing and I would not go back. Reducing or eliminating your allergies can change your entire experience of life. I want you to experience this kind of life shift, too. I’d love to teach you some of the blends my friend Eucalyptus shared with me. ***Come to my FREE webinar, Reduce Allergies Naturally Using Essential Oils.*** I will teach you everything that Eucalyptus taught me, and more—I’ll teach you the science behind why these blends work. I hope you can join me!
