There's such a sense of relief when you're getting over a cold.

The worst of the sneezes and sniffles are over, and your sinuses aren't as stuffed up as they were a few days ago. You have more energy and maybe even want to go for a walk.

But when you lie down to sleep, it can be a different story. Why do cold and flu symptoms always seem to get worse when you're trying to relax and get some rest? It seems like it doesn't matter how tired you are . . . you could be stuck lying awake all night!

It makes getting well take that much longer.

I created a Cold & Flu Sleep Remedy that can really help.

Cold & Flu Sleep Remedy

Calm any lingering cold and flu symptoms with this relaxing linen spray.

Ingredients
  • 2 oz (60 ml) water

  • 5 drops Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)

  • 5 drops Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana)

  • 5 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

  • 5 drops Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)

Equipment
  • One 2 oz (60 ml) spray bottle

Directions
  • Put the water in the spray bottle.

  • Add the essential oils.

  • Close the bottle, shake gently, and spray your linens.

  • If you prefer to use a solubol (dispersant) in your spray, simply add 4 drops of solubol per 1 drop of essential oil.

When it's time for bed, spray underneath your pillow and on top of your sheets liberally. I recommend making a fresh bottle every few weeks.

You might also want to take a warm bath with some cold relief bath salts before bed, and keep an inhaler at your bedside so you can use it if you need to. I have a lot of inhaler suggestions for colds, allergies, and respiratory help!

The essential oils in the Cold & Flu Sleep Remedy spray are so soothing and healing for the respiratory system, so you can choose from them to make your inhaler too. Use about 15 drops of essential oil total in your inhaler.

Stay on top of that cold and get some good quality rest.
