The Aromahead Blog - Aromatherapy Education and Resources

Fun Aromatherapy Videos on Our YouTube Channel!

aromatherapy videosAre you subscribed to Aromahead’s YouTube channel?

I’ve been uploading new Aromatherapy videos every two weeks, and I’m having so much fun!

I get to film recipes, talk about the oils in each one, and show you the process step by step. Sometimes I get to take you to different rooms in my house to see the blend in action, too. (You can see my Pilates machine in this video for Workout Equipment Cleaner Spray.)

When I started making YouTube Aromatherapy videos, I felt shy about it. But the more I learned, the more I fell in love with it! I feel like I’m talking directly to you, as though you’re right there in my kitchen blending with me. There is a true sense of community on our YouTube channel (which you’ll often see reflected in the comments under the videos—commenters come up with some great ideas!).

Another reason I love YouTube is that you can make playlists.

One way to use this feature would be to make a playlist of all your favorite Aromatherapy videos about diffuser blends. Then when you want diffuser ideas, you don’t have to go hunting around on YouTube for a good one. You have all your favorites lined up in your playlist.

In videos, I also get to make notes about the process of blending that might not come up if I were writing the recipe down.

For example, in one video, I had a little trouble getting the essential oil to come out of the bottle. I was able to tell people that sometimes a bubble forms and blocks the oil from coming out of the orifice reducer. All you have to do is give the top of the orifice reducer a little tap with your finger, and that dislodges the bubble. It was good to note, because sometimes it’s tempting to shake the bottle—and then you get way too much oil and lose count of your drops.

Making Aromatherapy blends is such a sensual experience, involving smell, touch, sight, and even sound. Aromatherapy videos allow us to incorporate more of our senses when learning recipes. Now if only they’d come up with a technology that gives us “smell-o-vision”!

I hope you’ll join me on YouTube. (If you click the red “Subscribe” button below one of my videos, you’ll receive an email update any time I post a new one!)
