Get through the holidays with essential oils for digestion.
There are a lot of celebrations going on this time of year! And there is often delicious food at every one of them. Some people even have multiple gatherings to go to in the same evening.
Before you know it, you’ve eaten too much.
I’m not talking about having one too many cookies—I’m talking about having one too many full meals! There’s a point at which “I shouldn’t have had that second helping,” turns into “I have to unbutton my pants or I think I’m going to explode!”
I have a Digestive Belly Cream Rub that is just perfect for such “special occasions.”
You’ll need 1 oz (30 ml) of unscented cream.
If you have never made a blend, we created a free Introduction to Essential Oils class at Aromahead, where you can learn the guidelines to making your own products and blending.
Blend these essential oils for digestion into an unscented cream:
Digestive Belly Cream Rub
- 4 drops Cardamom (Ellettaria cardamomum)
- 4 drops Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)
- 5 drops Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)
- 1 drop Peppermint (Mentha x piperita)
You can blend your essential oils right into an unscented body cream or lotion with a glass stir rod or a stainless steel spoon. Then rub it on your belly and lower back, take a few deep breaths and relax.
Sweet Orange, Cardamom and Peppermint are some of the best essential oils for digestion. They are known to help with constipation, gas, nausea and muscles spasms. Cardamom also lends a lovely, sweet, warm aroma to this blend.
I suggest making this before your season of celebration gets going, so you’ll have it on hand when you really need it.
Happy tummy and happy holidays!
