Handmade Holiday Gifts with Essential Oils

by Maria on October 05, 2009

With the holiday season coming up, you may be thinking about putting together blends as gifts for your friends and loved ones.

Handmade gifts with essential oils can be a wonderful way to show your appreciation without breaking your budget.

Did you know that each month, Aromatics International puts several products on sale? It never hurts to pop on over and see what's discounted--you never know what treasures you'll find!

make gifts with essential oilsThis is a great time to start making your holiday gift-giving list. Stock up on oils for gentle, relaxing blends. You can give everyone the same blend, or take the time to create more personal blends. (Maybe you know someone who could use some relaxation, and another friend who could use some uplifting energy.)

Last year, I made bath salts for over a dozen people.  I purchased mason jars, used pink Himalayan sea salts and worked with a 1% dilution, since I didn't consult with the recipients ahead of time.  (For gifts, it's best to stick with very gentle oils and a super safe dilution, and to add in 1 tablespoon of jojoba wax for every 4 oz. of salt.)

If you make bath salts or a scrub, try decorating your jars with ribbons or remnants from the craft store.  When wrapping holiday gifts, look for baskets that can be reused instead of wrapping paper or boxes that go to waste.

If you're just getting started blending, try the free introduction to essential oils class at Aromahead for a nice foundation.
