Spring is Here: Calm Your Allergy Symptoms Naturally

Calm Your Allergy Symptoms-1200 x 1200-V1Allergies driving you crazy? Have you noticed a surge in your symptoms . . . as well as a surge in television and radio commercials promoting various over-the-counter and commercial allergy medications?

Want to avoid using medication and calm your allergy symptoms naturally?

The first step is avoidance.

You can take a lot of cautionary measures to avoid exposure to allergens. Like keeping your windows closed at home, using air filters, keeping your sheets and pillows clean, and staying inside during peak pollen times. Use the internet to your advantage by researching the sorts of tips and steps that fit into your lifestyle.

One way to calm your allergy symptoms naturally is using a saline rinse (unmedicated). This can do wonders for rinsing and relieving nasal tissues. Once you get past the weird feeling, it’s actually very soothing!

You can use essential oil to calm your allergy symptoms naturally, too. Here are two recipes from Aromatics International:

Allergy Relief Inhaler

  • 4 drops Eucalyptus dives essential oil * (Eucalyptus dives)
  • 3 drops Ravintsara essential oil (Cinnamomum camphora 1,8 cineole)
  • 2 drops Siberian Fir essential oil (Abies sibirica)
Add these oils to the cotton part of a blank inhaler. Use the inhaler whenever allergy symptoms arise.

Sinus Congestion Relief Steam

  • 4 drops Cypress essential oil (Cupressus sempervirens)
  • 4 drops Eucalyptus dives essential oil * (Eucalyptus dives)
  • 2 drops Rosemary ct. camphor essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis ct. camphor)
  • 6 drops Tea Tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia)

In a glass orifice reducer bottle, blend the essential oils undiluted for an inhaler or steam.

To do a steam, add 1 drop of this blend to a bowl of steamy water. Make sure the water is just steaming, not boiling. CLOSE YOUR EYES and lean over the bowl and breathe in the oil. To enhance the effects, drape a towel over your head to create a tent.

*Blends with Eucalyptus are suggested for children over 10 years old and adults. For young children, you can diffuse Eucalyptus, being sure to diffuse away from their faces. If you like, you can replace it with a gentle oil like Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana).
