Diaper rash is no fun!

As tough as it is for parents and caretakers to see babies suffer from diaper rash, it's even tougher for the little ones. We want to help them and heal diaper rash naturally!

This is a recipe for an all-natural diaper rash spray made with no chemicals, preservatives, or synthetic ingredients.

In fact, it's not even made with essential oils!

Instead, it uses hydrosols—they are much gentler and safe for a baby's sensitive skin. I don't typically use essential oils for babies.

There are different approaches to using essential oils with little children. The Aromahead Approach is extra cautious, and for topical use, we prefer to use hydrosols, butters, and carrier oils. Babies' and young children's skin can be so sensitive that essential oils can easily become overwhelming for them. Their skin is so responsive that hydrosols can do the trick.

Make your diaper rash spray in a 4 oz (120 ml) bottle. If this is going in the diaper bag, I suggest using PET plastic, which won't break if it gets dropped. PET plastic is known as a non-reactive plastic that doesn't leach. In cases where glass isn't ideal, PET plastic is a good choice.

I love sharing this blend with new moms and dads. It's just so gentle and worry-free. You can use it right on the baby's bottom. You can also spray it on blankets and car seats and add a capful of it to the baby's bath. It has a very warm aroma, and once children become familiar with it, it can inspire feelings of comfort and being cared for.

I recommend making this spray fresh every few weeks.

Are you familiar with hydrosols?

They are created when essential oils are steam distilled. The steam extracts the oil from the plant . . . and the steam itself becomes infused with many therapeutic properties. When it condenses back into the water, we have hydrosol.

Lavender and German Chamomile hydrosols are so helpful for calming inflammation and soothing irritation. We can use them for a wide variety of skin issues.

You may like your brand-new natural diaper rash spray so much that you make another bottle to use on your own skin. Enjoy it!
